Phenidone A - 10g
Phenidone A, also known as 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidinone, is a powerful soft-working developing agent. It is considered to be one of the least harmful developing agents to humans and is super-additive with pyrogallol, catechol, ascorbate derivatives and hydroquinone.
It can be sometimes substituted for metol in formulae when metol is not the sole developing agent. The starting substitution rate is 1 gram of phenidone for every 10 grams of metol.

It is readily soluble in warm aqueous acidic or basic solutions. It is recommended for best long term storage to dissolve into propylene glycol for a 5% solution which in turn will also make it easier to measure small quantities of phenidone.
